Real Deal began as a collaboration between Lawrencee "Raw Dog" Hubbard and H.P. McElwee in 1989. They produced Real Del #1 in 1990, and it was received well by audiences craving something new and different. Since that time, a total of 8 issues have been published, along with a hard cover book that includes Issues 1-7.

Real Deal is all about Urban Terror. Urban Terror is a humorous essay of the violence that occurs every day in the urban centers of America. Each story depicts the every-day struggles of the urban dwellers who strike out at each other out of the futility that poverty and illiteracy brings them.

Lawrence "Raw Dog" Hubbard frequently makes appearances at San Diego Comic-Com and other trade shows.
